The versatile and distinctive tone of the bassoon is showcased in this afternoon masterclass with Lola Descours, one of the most talented musicians of her generation.
An accomplished orchestral musician, Lola is currently Principal Bassoon of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed with leading ensembles including the Frankfurt Opera, Royal Concertgebouworkest, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, London Philharmonic, and Bamberger Symphoniker. As a soloist, she has appeared with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra in Japan and at major international festivals.
A passionate chamber musician, Lola founded the Cocteau Trio and Trio ABC, and she is committed to nurturing the next generation of bassoonists through her teaching at the Pôle supérieur of Aix-en-Provence.
