Una Cho
Eun Cho made her debut as a concerto soloist in South Korea with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra at the age of 13 and, since arriving in London to study at the Royal College of Music in 2011, has gone on to perform concerts and recitals in numerous venues around London including the Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Opera House, Cadogan Hall, Southbank Centre and St. James’ Piccadilly amongst other esteemed venues in England, Italy, Germany and South Korea.
From 2011 to 2015, Eun had the honour of studying in a very small class with the world-renowned cellist, and student of Mstislav Rostropovich, Natalia Gutman in Florence and Vienna.
She won the Dvorak Concerto Competition in London presented in association with the London Cello Society which led to her performing Dvorak Cello Concerto with the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra in London. Other appearances as concerto soloist include performances with the Serbia Radio & TV Orchestra, French Chamber Orchestra, Daegu Philharmonic, Suwon Philharmonic, Seoul Symphony & Sejong Philharmonic.
Eun has won prizes at numerous competitions including the Schoenfeld International String Competition in China, Paul Harris International Music Competition associated by Dino Chiani in Italy, Tunbridge Wells International Competition in England, The Great Mountain Music Festival Concerto Competition in Korea and she was a finalist at the Jeunesses Musicales International Competition in Serbia.
In December 2022, Eun made a successful debut as guest principal cello in the Royal Ballet Sinfonia for BRB’s world famous production of the Nutcracker at the Birmingham Hippodrome. She is co-director of <Cello Project Korea> which was formed in 2015, founder member of <The Cellists of KNUA>, which regularly sell out concerts at Seoul Arts Centre.
Eun also teaches cello at the Yehudi Menuhin School.
