EU students
‘There are many reasons why the RCM is the place to be; the high-calibre performance and learning opportunities, supportive staff, and the professional yet welcoming atmosphere.’
The Royal College of Music’s international community of staff and students makes it an exciting and diverse hub of musical activity. More than 20% of RCM students come from EU countries, studying at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. RCM staff come from across the globe, with over 100 staff from 23 EU/EEA countries and Switzerland, bringing with them a wealth of experience and expertise.
Students from all over the world bring exceptional talent, creativity and inspiration to the RCM and contribute significantly to our reputation as a world-class conservatoire. The RCM was ranked as the global top institution for performing arts in the 2023 QS World University Rankings by Subject.
Applicants to the RCM’s performance and composition courses from all countries, including EU countries, are considered for scholarships. These are awarded based on performance at audition. Scholarships may contribute to tuition fees or cover full tuition for the most promising applicants.
We like to ensure all our students feel at home when they arrive. There are plenty of opportunities to get to know your fellow musicians and the RCM Students’ Union runs a diverse programme of social events. Our friendly staff in Registry and Student Services are experienced in helping EU students and are available to offer assistance and advice.
