The largest and lowest brass instrument takes centre stage in this fascinating masterclass with American tubist Doug Tornquist, described by the Los Angeles Times as ‘A player of astonishing flamboyance’.

Doug’s experience in the concert hall includes Principal Tuba for the Long Beach Symphony and performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra under the batons of Pierre Boulez, Esa Pekka Salonen and Valerie Gergiev. His deep, rich tone can also be found in recordings with a plethora of artists, including Diana Krall, Neil Diamond, Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban, and Meat Loaf, among many others.
