Jonathan Maloney

Horn professor

Jonathan Maloney is 4th horn of the London Symphony Orchestra and horn professor at the Royal College of Music.

Jonathan started learning horn at school in Glasgow and later studied at the RNCM in Manchester, and then at the RCM. After finishing his studies, Jonathan established a freelance career based in London, playing with orchestras there and throughout the UK and abroad. This included a period as interim 4th horn of the Philharmonia Orchestra before taking up his current position at the LSO in 2021.

Outside of music, he enjoys reading, gardening and carpentry.
