We aim to inform candidates of the outcome of their audition as soon as we can. We will provide successful applicants with additional information and resources to help them prepare for their life at the Royal College of Music.
When will I know about the outcome of my audition?
If you auditioned in London in November/December or by video recording you should hear from us about the outcome of your audition before Christmas.
If you auditioned overseas or auditioned late in London you should normally hear from us within two weeks of your audition date.
To ensure we can reach you by email or telephone (including over the Christmas period), please ensure you inform us of any changes in your contact details. If you have applied through UCAS Conservatoires, you can update your contact details in your Hub.
How will my outcome be released?
Candidates who applied through UCAS Conservatoires will receive their results via the UCAS Conservatoires Hub. If you are offered a place this is also where you will find the academic conditions you will need to meet. In addition, the RCM will send a confirmatory email with further information on what to do next.
To ensure we can contact you by email or telephone, please ensure your information is kept up to date by updating it in the UCAS Hub.
Can I get feedback about my audition?
Following publication of results, applicants may request feedback within two months by emailing admissions@rcm.ac.uk. Unfortunately, we are unable to process feedback for requests received later than this. Feedback will normally be processed within 20 working days of receipt, but please be aware requests for feedback during Christmas and New Year may take longer as the RCM is closed.
The purpose of the audition is only to assess an applicant’s suitability for the specified course; it is not intended as a consultation. Our courses are highly competitive and applicants should be aware that feedback may simply state that other applicants were stronger or that the course was not suitable for them. The RCM will not enter into a dialogue with applicants regarding feedback.
