Royal College of Music More Music Campaign surpasses £40 million target
Monday 28 November 2022
The Royal College of Music has raised more than £40 million through the decade-long More Music: Reimagining the Royal College of Music Campaign, surpassing its fundraising target.
The More Music Campaign was set within the context of a history of committed philanthropy since our founding in 1882.
The Campaign began in 2012 and was launched publicly in 2015 by The former Prince of Wales, President of the Royal College of Music and Patron of the More Music Campaign.
The main goals of the Campaign were to raise funds for an ambitious and vital new building development, to augment the College’s relatively modest endowment fund to support scholarships, and to raise funds for innovative core projects and outreach activities, all to consolidate our status as a world-leading conservatoire for teaching, learning and research.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, the RCM has surpassed the £40 million Campaign target, which has included over £25 million for our facilities, £10 million for endowed scholarships and over £5 million for projects. This will build a lasting legacy from which our current and future students, staff and members of our community can benefit.
Almost 2,000 supporters, including alumni, staff and donors, helped us achieve this goal. Thank you!
A livestreamed More Music Concert, featuring Vaughan Williams’ A Sea Symphony, was broadcast on 27 October 2022, as part of the College’s celebrations for reaching this milestone. If you missed it, there is still a chance to watch the recording on our YouTube channel.
A programme of more celebratory events will also be taking place in the months ahead. Further details will be announced.
