RCM Autumn Events
Tuesday 19 August 2014
Booking is now open for the Royal College of Music’s Autumn Season 2014.
As always we have an exciting line up of concerts, masterclasses, talks and participatory events showcasing the RCM’s outstandingly talented young performers and featuring some of the world's most highly esteemed musicians. Just some of this season's highlights are:
- Orchestral performances of seminal works such as Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, Mahler’s Symphony no 2 and Schubert’s Symphony no 8.
- Masterclasses with mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly, composer Eric Whitacre, cellist Julian Lloyd Webber, violinist Pinchas Zukerman and pianist Emanuel Ax.
- A very special concert celebrating the music of Steve Reich, attended by the composer himself.
- Free lunchtime concerts starring RCM professors and RCM prize winners.
- The return of our annual International Festival of Viols, featuring expert early music performers.
- Three days celebrating the multi-talented Australian conductor, composer and violist Brett Dean.
- An unmissable tribute to the great British dance bands from Mike Lovatt and the RCM Big Band
We are delighted that booking for these and all other upcoming RCM events has now been made easier than ever thanks to the addition of our brand-new Spektrix Box Office system, which was implemented over the summer.
