We are seeking to appoint a Learning & Participation Coordinator: Pipeline and Transitions to support the work of RCM Sparks, the RCM’s flagship Learning and Participation department. RCM Sparks provides opportunities for everyone to make or learn about music at the RCM and gives access to inspirational learning experiences for all regardless of barriers. RCM Sparks offers projects, events and workshops in local schools and communities, working with families and young people. Learning & Participation Coordinator: Pipeline and Transitions will:
•    Be responsible for supporting the co-ordination of activity with children and young people from a range of diverse settings to develop a rich pipeline of young musicians engaging with the RCM.
•    Be responsible for advising colleagues in best practise in the area of widening participation and pipeline projects.
•    Develop excellent relationships with external partners and harness the outstanding expertise of the RCM Heads of Faculty to support with the pipeline growth area.
•    Work closely with all elements of the Sparks programme and team members – including Community, Sparks Juniors, and the RCM student pathway to ensure a joined-up programme offer.
•    Plan, implement and deliver projects to further develop the RCM’s broader Equality, Diversity and Inclusion work through the RCM Sparks programme.
The successful applicant will be a creative thinker and have previous experience of coordinating access projects in educational and/or community settings. Your commitment to widening access, knowledge of EDI activity in a variety of mainstream and specialist school settings will be key in enabling you to excel in this role which is based on excellent relationships – internally and externally.
