Salary: Grade 5, £29,578 - £32,378 per annum. Appointments will normally be made to the first point of the grade.

The Royal College of Music is seeking to appoint an Orchestra Coordinator to join the busy Performance & Programming department. This is an opportunity to join a team that has responsibility for planning and organising all orchestral and large ensemble concerts at the RCM including performances by Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, Opera Orchestra, New Perspectives, Jazz Orchestra, Wind Ensemble and Brass Ensemble. This role involves working closely with students, staff, professors and orchestral musicians.  

Key duties include:
•    Coordinating the orchestral and large ensemble performance programme, including assisting on the day to day running of these projects
•    Preparing and distributing music
•    Setting up orchestral and large ensemble rehearsals and stage managing concerts

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:
•    You should have a good knowledge of classical music, instruments, scores and orchestral practice.
•    You should have the ability to understand the practical implications of a music score, particularly regarding instrumentation and stage layout.
•    You should be able to manage a busy workload working proactively, flexibly and creatively, as well as remain calm under pressure, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
