We are seeking an Assistant to the Director of Finance & Director of Estates to join the Secretariat team; the Secretariat is the administrative hub of the RCM and provides essential support to the Royal College of Music (RCM)’s Directorate.
The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain a first-hand understanding of what is involved in the operations of a World Class conservatoire, working alongside industry leaders. Previous post holders have progressed to senior estates, finance,project management and fast track career roles. You will quickly become fully engaged with the strategic priorities of the College and you will also be expected to take responsibility for discrete projects and areas of work, liaising closely with the Clerk to Council.
The post involves daily contact with consultants, project managers and suppliers, as well as students, eminent musicians, many of whom are professors, important donors and support of the RCM and Council members, who come from a wide variety of backgrounds: the City, media, the House of Lords and the professions.
You will need excellent inter-personal, IT, communication and organisational skills, the ability to manage a busy and varied workload, to work as a member of a team and have experience of servicing committees.
This post is offered on a permanent, full-time basis and is available from March 2023
