Headshot for Rosa Mannion

Rosa Mannion was born in Liverpool and studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music. She made her operatic debut in 1984 as Adina in L’Elisir D’Amore with Scottish Opera and for the following 16 years enjoyed an international career singing with major opera houses, conductors, orchestras and festivals throughout Europe. In 1998 illness forced her to end her singing career and she began to teach, building up an enormous private practise as well as joining the music faculty at Bath Spa University. She gives masterclasses and workshops throughout the country, adjudicates and examines for the major conservatoires and, as a trustee of Jackdaws Educational Trust, regularly runs residential courses for singers.
