Our home in South Kensington is at the heart of one of the UK’s most visionary cultural centres. In the 1850s, Prince Albert conceived of a new area that would bring together institutions of learning, artistic excellence, scientific endeavour and cultural celebration. 'Albertopolis' is for everyone.
More Music will transform and expand the spaces available to students and visitors of all ages to make and learn about music, while preserving the iconic character of our surroundings. Designed by architect John Simpson, dynamic and vibrant new spaces will provide cutting-edge facilities and an inspirational learning environment in which our students can create, research and perform music. This building work is already well underway.

Our renowned collection includes the world’s earliest surviving guitar and the oldest known stringed keyboard instrument, and represents a range of music-making activities spanning a period of more than five centuries.

A new Flentrop Orgelbouw organ

The bespoke instrument was designed with emphasis on beauty of tone, achieving a warm, prominent tone, ideal for the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall's lively acoustic.
