Sophie Simpson
Sophie Simpson studied Music at the University of York, followed by a Masters in Violin Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music. Since graduating in 2016 she has been busy pursuing a portfolio career in teaching and as a freelance performer on both modern and baroque violin.
Ensembles she performs with include English Baroque Soloists, The English Concert, London Handel Players, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Dunedin Consort, Manchester Camerata, Northern Ballet Sinfonia, Southbank Sinfonia (member 2019), European Union Chamber Orchestra and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
Sophie is also passionate about teaching and outreach work; she currently holds teaching positions with institutions including the Royal College of Music Junior Department, Wells Cathedral School, Cheam School and Elstree School, and she is a tutor for both the National Children’s Orchestras and National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
