Success for Yoshio Hamano

RCM pianist Yoshio Hamano has been awarded First Prize at the Nordic International Piano Competition in Malmö, Sweden.

Yoshio, an RCM Masters student who studies with Professor Dmitri Alexeev, beat off 20 other competitors to win the top prize of a Blüthner Grand Piano (valued at £42,000) and the opportunity to perform concerts in Sweden and Japan. In his winning performance he played works by Amimori, Scriabin and Schumann.
