RCM singers have continued a recent run of RCM Vocal Faculty successes.
RCM soprano Soraya Mafi (pictured), a member of the RCM’s International Opera School, has won the prestigious 2013 Maggie Teyte Competition. As part of her prize Soraya will give a recital in the Royal Opera House’s Crush Room in June 2014.
RCM musicians have also been acknowledged at the Help Musicians UK awards: soprano Anna Rajah has been awarded a Help Musicians UK Licette Scholarship, and pianist Paul McKenzie - currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Piano Accompaniment at the Royal College of Music with Simon Lepper - has been awarded their Accompanist Award of £1,000. Soraya Mafi also won a Licette Award in addition to winning the Maggie Teyte Prize.
