Primary Proms

On Thursday 10 October, the RCM Junior Department Chamber Orchestra performed at a pair of very special events.

Taking place at the Royal Albert Hall, the two London Primary Proms – run by national music charity Music for Youth and hosted by CBBC’s Barney Harwood – offered 7,500 young Londoners the chance to hear outstanding music-making by some of the capital’s leading young performers.

The enthusiastic audience enjoyed performances by a brass band, percussion ensemble, a big band and a choir, as well as the JD Chamber Orchestra’s vibrant performances of Warlock’s Capriol Suite.
