La vie parisienne

Monday 17 June 2013

From Monday 24 to Saturday 29 June the RCM International Opera School is transporting audiences to Paris in our sparkling summer production of Offenbach’s La vie parisienne.

La vie parisienne takes audiences on a whistle-stop tour of the city’s glittering nightlife, and features perhaps the most colourful collection of characters in all opera. Our award-winning cast are singing in English, using the brilliantly entertaining translation by satirist Alistair Beaton.

Directing this opera will be Jo Davies, who we’re thrilled to welcome back to the RCM following her acclaimed productions of The Cunning Little Vixen and The Bartered Bride. She and her design team are offering up a radical new staging that brings you closer to the action than you’ve ever been before…

To find out more, visit www.rcm.ac.uk/offenbach and visit our YouTube channel to watch behind-the-scenes rehearsal footage and an interview with cast members Peter Kirk and Luke D Williams.

Performances of La vie parisienne take place at 7.30pm on 24, 26, 28 June, and at 2pm and 7.30pm on 29 June, in the RCM’s Britten Theatre. Tickets cost between £10 and £40, and are available from the RCM’s Box Office on 020 7591 4314 or www.rcm.ac.uk/boxoffice
