Desireé Kongerød utilises her background in dance, yoga and circus to help students develop into performers who are comfortable with the way their body works and who are conscious of how to create character through physical energy on stage. She has taught movement to the British Youth Opera and provided movement direction/choreography for Garsington Opera. 

Desireé has taught movement at the Royal College of Music since 1998.
 
Desireé Kongerød was born and grew up in Norway. She moved to London to study dance at London Contemporary Dance School and Trinity Laban. She has had a successful career as a contemporary dancer and a circus performer, touring throughout Europe, Asia and the States. Desireé runs her own company called An Act Above. Combining advanced aerial skills and stilts with dance and spectacular costumes, An Act Above creates stunning theatrical visuals and character-based performances. Desireé has also been practising and teaching yoga for over 20 years.
