Britten: The Student Years
(July - December 2013)
This special exhibition marked the centenary of the birth of one of the RCM's most celebrated alumni, Benjamin Britten, who entered the RCM in 1930.
It was here that he completed some of his early masterpieces, including his Sinfonietta op 1, which you can hear performed at a special concert on Tuesday 19 November (on sale from 21 August).
This exhibition, curated by Britten expert Professor Paul Banks, and explored Britten’s time at the RCM, his teachers and his collaborations with RCM staff and students.
