Anna Sideris

Anna Sideris is a lyric coloratura soprano working on the opera stage and recital platform, recognized for her dramatically engaging performances and richness of tone. 

Anna studied music at Oxford University, has an MA in Classical Singing from the Royal Academy of Music, and studied on the Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She has performed widely on the operatic stage with companies such as Grange Park Opera, Garsington Opera and Birmingham Opera Company; with recent highlights including Violetta 'La Traviata' (Verdi), and First Lady 'The Magic Flute' (Mozart) for Oxford Opera, Borka 'Borka' (Hepplewhite and Yelland) for Ignite Music, Giulia Grisi 'Victorian Pantomime' at Kensington Palace, Donna Elvira 'Don Giovanni' (Mozart); False Angele 'The Tsar Wants His Photograph Taken' (Kurt Weill); Susanna 'Le Nozze di Figaro' (Mozart) for Dartington Opera and Merry Opera Company.
Concert highlights include: Mozart Requiem and Vivaldi Gloria with Hanover Band, Handel Messiah, Faure Requiem and Mozart Requiem for Brandenburg Festival, Tippett 'Child of our Time', Mozart Mass in C minor performed in Bath Bach Choir, Boulez 'Improvisations sur Mallarmé' with the Manon Ensemble for Aldeburgh festival and Strauss Vier letzte lieder with the Oxford Millennium Orchestra. Anna has performed on BBC Radio 3 Music Matters and performed in a number of recitals for the Rimbaud & Verlaine foundation at Kings Place London. 

Anna is a passionate singing teacher with over 15 years of experience, having been apprenticed to Sara Reynolds, Mary King and Janice Chapman. She is also a dedicated teaching artist, always looking for opportunities to bring classical music to a new audience and the wider community. 
Anna is currently Head of Outreach for Alina Orchestra, she designed and delivered Restoration for Oxford Opera - a singing program to help those living with Long Covid, she has worked for Grange Park Opera on their Primary Robbins scheme and was involved in LikeUnlike and Time Capsule for the Grange Festival. Anna delivers singing workshops with SongEasel, she was a Live Music Now artist, and one of the founders of Little Opera UK.

Anna started teaching almost as soon as she started singing, and has always been fascinated by the power of self expression, communication and its impact on our overall wellbeing.
