Pre-performance talk with John Hegley

6:15pm | 06 April 2017 | Recital Hall

John Hegley offers a personal take on Jean Philippe Rameau ahead of tonight’s performance of Les fêtes d’Hébé.

John Hegley is known as one of the country's most innovative comic poets with several best-selling volumes of poetry to his name. He has set some of his poems and drawings to the music of Jean Philippe Rameau, after investigating his own possible ancestral links to the composer.

John Hegley says: "This talk will feature tales of France, dance and my family, with Monsieur Rameau always close at harpsichord hand. Also present will be those with whom he fell out of favour: Diderot... and Rousseau, more so."

Tickets: Free but required
