Great Exhibitionists: Sonder
5:30pm | 01 May 2017 | Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall
Algirdas Kraunaitis project leader
Combining contemporary dance and music, Sonder is a response to current political and world events in an open-ended and peaceful way.
‘Sonder’ is an emotion, a feeling that other people have as complex and as equally rich an inner life as your own. This emotion can be viewed in two ways: acknowledging life’s complexities and variables through other people or understanding other people through your own life. This performance corresponds to current world events by reminding us of this, and that only by acknowledging each other and ourselves can we initiate a discussion and, perhaps, work things out in a more peaceful and forward-looking way.
This is the first of two performances of Sonder, the second taking place at 6.45pm.
Taking up the spirit of the 1851 Great Exhibition, this cutting-edge series is curated entirely by students. For more information visit www.rcm.ac.uk/greatexhibitionists.
