Great Exhibitionists: DNAnce
9:00pm | 30 April 2017 | Britten Theatre Stage
Edoardo Vella project leader
Hear a new musical experience where electronic and live instruments fuse together in order to create a world of sparkling vibe and rarefied energy.
DNAnce is a hybrid musical project by ALIFIB Synthphonic Orchestra, where all the borders between acoustic and digital sounds are shot down. The 17-musician ensemble has been created with the purpose of exploring the boundaries of the concepts of genre and style.
They aim to create a multi-emotional musical experience where's impossible to establish a fixed conceptual interpretation and explanation; everyone can freely react, forgetting about the typical need of 'labelling' what we are listening to.
The performance is based on the concepts of ‘here’ and ‘now’, creating something that could never be reproduced live again in the same way by integrating looping and electronic music into half-improvisated scores.
Taking up the spirit of the 1851 Great Exhibition, this cutting-edge series is curated entirely by students. For more information visit www.rcm.ac.uk/greatexhibitionists
