Now in its 13th year, Restore a Score has raised over £110,000 and restored 330 volumes of music from the RCM’s collections. The annual appeal has enabled the conservation of first editions by Handel and Beethoven, and has supported the binding of 20th-century works by Howells, Parry and Britten.
All items are cared for in the RCM’s internationally renowned Library, which contains over 300,000 artefacts dating back to the 16th century.
This year we will celebrate the centenary of the death of composer and former RCM professor, Hubert Parry. The evening will include welcome drinks and a short recital of Parry’s songs in our Parry Rooms. A selection of scores in need of conservation will be also on display, as well as items which have been conserved in past years.
