RCM composer Danielle Howard has been named as a winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society (RPS) and IdeasTap Sound & Vision competition.

She is one of just five young composers and five filmmakers selected from over 100 applications to be given the chance to create a new short film. Danielle will be collaborating with fellow competition winner Victoria Fioravante, an Italian documentary filmmaker.

Each pair of young artists have been brought together by the RPS and IdeasTap, and awarded £1,000 to bring their creative visions to fruition. Their final films will be shown at an autumn screening in London.

Sound & Vision is a new initiative from the Royal Philharmonic Society – which unites the music profession and its audiences to create a vibrant future for music – and IdeasTap, an arts charity that helps creative people get to where they want to be.
