The Royal College of Music has been named as the top music school outside of the USA by The Hollywood Reporter.

The ranking of the world’s Top 25 Music Schools, published in the November 2014 issue of The Hollywood Reporter (THR) magazine, states that the Grammy, Emmy and Oscar winners of tomorrow are practising in these notable institutions” which “funnel talent to Hollywood”.

The RCM is placed 10th, ahead of all other non-American institutions, and is particularly praised for having professors from top London orchestras as well as offering masterclasses with internationally-acclaimed artists such as Hans Zimmer and soprano Kiri Te Kanawa.

This is the second year that the RCM has been named as one of the top 10 institutions in THR’s list, which is compiled through a survey of dozens of industry and academic insiders as well as an anonymous ranking system by the schools themselves. See the full list on the THR’s website.
