Choreographics

Monday 22 April 2013

This May, English National Ballet is premiering five brand new dance works created in collaboration with composers from the Royal College of Music.

For Choreographics - A Letter to…, dancers from the ENB have turned choreographers to create original pieces set to music by RCM composers. Using a letter as inspiration for their work, the choreographers and composers worked in partnership, exploring and building the relationship between dance and music.

The five RCM composers who were selected to take part in the project are Laurence Osborn, Gerardo Gozzi, Raquel Garcia Tomas, Ryan Cockerham and Andrew Baldwin. Their works are being recorded by RCM musicians for use in the final performances.

The finished pieces will be performed by English National Ballet artists at The Place, London, on 3 and 4 May 2013. Visit the English National Ballet website for more information and to book tickets.

A preview of Choreographics is available to watch now on The Place website.
