Success for Anna

Tuesday 28 January 2014

RCM soprano Anna Rajah has been awarded a place at the internationally prestigious Bayerische Staatsoper Opera Studio for the autumn of 2014.

The Opera Studio programme supports highly talented young artists and prepares them for an international career through role studies, vocal lessons, acting and movement classes as well as language training. The artists are cast for small roles in productions on the main stage and take part in several concert projects.

Currently studying with Timothy Evans-Jones in her final year at the RCM’s International Opera School, Anna will also be covering Sandrina in Mozart’s La finta giardiniera at Glyndebourne Festival in Summer 2014, where she has been made a Jerwood Young Artist.

The British soprano is a recipient of an INDEPENDENT OPERA Vocal scholarship at the RCM and is also a Neville Wathen Memorial Award holder. She is supported by a Musicians Benevolent Fund Sybil Tutton Award, is a Samling Scholar, and a Hazard Chase Young Associate Artist.
