National Student Survey

The Royal College of Music has achieved excellent results in the National Student Survey for the second consecutive year, scoring 86% for undergraduate students’ overall satisfaction of the quality of the BMus course.

The 2017 survey praised the Royal College of Music’s library resources, with 96% of students reporting that their learning was well supported by the RCM library’s books, online services and learning spaces. Additionally, 93% of students responded positively when asked whether they had access to specialised equipment, facilities and rooms when they needed it. Both results mark the highest percentages across all UK conservatoires.

Peter Linnitt, the Royal College of Music’s Librarian, comments ‘The student experience is central to the library provision and it is wonderful for the team and the services to be recognised so well by our students.’

The RCM is currently ranked as the top conservatoire for Performing Arts in the UK and Europe in the QS World University Rankings 2017. Data published last year by the Higher Education Statistic Agency found that students from the Royal College of Music are among the most employable in the UK, with 100% of RCM alumni who responded to the survey having moved into employment or further study six months after graduating for the third consecutive year.
