RCMJD student Jacky Zhang receives Grade 8 distinction

Jacky Zhang joined the RCMJD as a first study pianist this September and was awarded a distinction for his Grade 8 piano exam in October. At just seven years of age, Jacky is unusually young to take a Grade 8 exam, let alone to pass with distinction. His phenomenal talent impressed his examiners and Junior Department staff, who have taken him under their wing as one of their youngest students.

Jacky is taught by Geoffrey Govier, who also teaches senior students at the RCM's Keyboard Faculty. After such a remarkable start to his time at the College, we look forward to watching Jacky’s exciting musical future unfold.
