Welcoming Sian Edwards

We regret to announce that due to a family bereavement, John Wilson is unable to conduct the RCM Symphony Orchestra concert on Thursday 27 September. We send John our deepest condolences, and look forward to welcoming him back to the RCM in 2013.

To replace John, we’re incredibly fortunate that RCM favourite and British music expert Sian Edwards will be stepping in to conduct the programme, which concludes with Vaughan Williams’ majestic ‘London Symphony’.

Sian is well known for her striking performances of British music, and her stunning Holst performance last year with the RCM Symphony Orchestra featured in a major documentary broadcast on BBC television. Before the concert, at 6.30pm, she will be joining RCM Artistic Director Stephen Johns for a discussion of British music.
