By Special Invitation...

Wednesday 26 October 2011

This month, RCM performers were invited to perform in two prestigious concert series in south west London.

On 18 October, RCM organists presented an Organ Showcase as part of the October Arts Festival at St Luke’s and Christ Church, Chelsea. Current students Richard Moore, James Perkins, Georgina Sherriff joined alumnus Charles Andrews to perform works by Bach, Stanley, Buxtehude and Frescobaldi.

A week later on 25 October, Historical Performance students joined Ashley Solomon at the Institut Français in South Kensington for the inaugural concert in a brand new series entitled ‘A French Musical Journey from Couperin to Boulez’. This gave RCM performers the unique opportunity to present works by Couperin, De Visée, Monteclair, Rameau and Leclair in the heart of London’s French community. For more information see the Institut Français wesbite.

These special one-off events complement our regular series of concerts at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall and The National Gallery. For more information visit the “What’s On” section of the website.
