First Prize for RCM Singer

Congratulations to RCM soprano Abigail Mitchell who won first prize in the International "Vokal Genial" competition in Munich with the Munich Radio Orchestra at the weekend.

The competition focussed on repertoire from Italian and French opera of the 18th and 19th centuries, and Abigail sang extracts from Romeo et Juliette, Rigoletto, Manon and Rossini’s Semiramide to gain first prize.

Abigail is in her second year at the RCM International Opera School, supported by the inaugural Georgina Joshi International Fellowship, created as part of our partnership with Indiana University’s Jacob School of Music.
