The RCM is re-designing its approach to delivering technology, innovation, production and digital learning across the college. The AV and Broadcast Support Engineer is a new post which will form part of the newly created RCM Digital team and support the successful delivery of the exciting and inter-disciplinary Digital Strategy 2016-19.
The AV and Broadcast Support Engineer will provide technical maintenance for all audio-visual equipment and facilities throughout the RCM, including the specialist recording, filming and broadcast equipment in the studios, and its Apple Macintosh network. The postholder will take responsibility for the complete lifecycle of the electronic equipment, ensuring regular PAT testing as required, and take ownership of AV equipment inventories (software and hardware), ensuring they are always up-to-date and that all relevant software licensing legislation is complied with.
This role is key to the RCM’s Technology Support team and we are seeking candidates with:
- Appropriate degree or professional qualification or equivalent experience in broadcast and/or audio-visual engineering
- Excellent knowledge of the technologies used for recording, filming and live streaming music to professional standard
- Good working knowledge and ability to install, maintain and troubleshoot Mac OS computers, high speed data networks and specialist audio, video and music software
- Excellent customer service, communication and relationship building skills with an appreciation of the arts, particularly music, in education
