Digital Learning Graduate Internship

Founded in 1882 the Royal College of Music (RCM) is one of the world’s leading conservatoires providing specialised musical education and professional training at the highest international level for performers and composers.
The Royal College of Music (RCM) is currently in a phase of rapid development, expanding and improving its physical environment, and investing in and deploying digital enhancements in both existing and new areas of learning, teaching, research and administration. The RCM’s innovative Virtual Learning Environment, learn.rcm, is now in its second year of operation, and is used as a tool to support, enhance, and innovate across all areas of teaching and learning at the RCM. Learn.rcm is powered by Canvas, and integrated with platforms, tools and databases to support the student experience including Asimut, RCMstream (Planet eStream), Turnitin, Note Flight, Office 365, Google Docs, Twitter, Agresso and student records databases. It is this combination of digital learning tools that is recognised as the RCM’s Virtual Learning Environment, learn.rcm.
This part-time internship would ideally suit a recent music graduate wishing to develop their professional portfolio in areas of arts administration and education. The successful applicant will work closely with the Digital Learning Manager, and all teaching and learning related departments within the RCM.
Applicants will ideally have some prior experience of both the performing arts context, and office-based administrative work, with a confidence in working with ICT, and the ability to work independently on administrative tasks.
High levels of oral and written communication skills are essential, applicants should be presentable and pro-active as well as highly organised with good attention to detail.
The successful candidate will ideally be able to start from the week commencing 6 November 2017 and finish the week commencing 2 July 2018.
The post holder will have access to confidential information as part of this role, and therefore current RCM students are not
eligible to apply.
